COAST GUARD ASSISTS EPA
AT HURRICANE IKE RESPONSE

The Coast Guard's National Strike Force is assisting the Environmental Protection Agency Monday with Hurricane Ike recovery operations near Houston.

The NSF members are working as liaisons for the EPA as well as providing hazardous material response and incident command system support for Sector Houston-Galveston.

Ten members from the Atlantic Strike Team based in Ft. Dix, N.J; fifteen from the Gulf Strike Team based in Mobile, Ala., and one from the Pacific Strike Team based in Novato, Calif., joined the EPA's response Sunday.
